Lifetime Craftsmanship Guarantee

Kachi Gloves Lifetime Craftsmanship Guarantee

Every Kachi glove is covered by a lifetime craftsmanship guarantee. This page is the plain-English version of what that means.

The One-Sentence Version

If something goes wrong on a Kachi glove because we screwed up — not because you did — we fix it or replace it, for as long as you own the glove.

What's Covered

  • Leather defects. Cracks, separations, or structural issues in the leather that weren't caused by damage or misuse.
  • Construction defects. Failed stitching, misaligned pocket, web-to-shell joint failures.
  • Lacing failures. Laces that break under normal use conditions. Lace replacement is one of the most common warranty claims — we stock replacement laces in every standard colorway.
  • Embroidery defects. Name, number, team logo, or flag embroidery that degrades abnormally quickly.
  • Web integrity. The web unraveling or failing at the connection points.
  • Welting failures. The reinforcement around the glove's edge coming apart.

What's Not Covered

  • Normal wear and tear. Leather softening, pocket deepening over years of use, surface scuffs, minor fading — this is aging, not a defect. Every glove ages. That's not on us.
  • Damage from misuse. Running it over with a car. Leaving it in a hot car for a month. Putting it in a washing machine (yes, this happens). Using it for a sport it wasn't designed for.
  • Damage from improper care. Mink oil. Shaving cream. Oven drying. Full list of what not to do at Glove Care Instructions.
  • Water damage. If it's been waterlogged or mildewed from improper storage, that's care damage — not a craftsmanship defect.
  • Modifications done by third parties. If you took the glove to someone else for relacing or repocketing and that work failed, that's their warranty, not ours. If you bring it back to us before any third-party work, our warranty applies.
  • Loss or theft. Insurance, not warranty.

How the Warranty Works

  1. Email support@kachigloves.com with photos of the glove and a brief description of what happened.
  2. We respond within 1 business day with a diagnosis — covered / not covered / need more info.
  3. If covered: we send a prepaid return label. Ship the glove to Miami.
  4. Our team assesses: is it repairable, or does it need full replacement?
  5. Repair turnaround: typically 2–3 weeks. Full replacement turnaround: 6 weeks (same as a new custom build).
  6. We cover return shipping both ways.
  7. During season: we can expedite repair/replacement timelines. Flag urgency when you file.

Honest Expectations

A Kachi Japanese Kip glove, cared for well, should last 5+ seasons of active use. That's what it's built for. If you're at year 2 and something fails in normal use, that's us owing you a repair. If you're at year 8 and the pocket is showing its age, that's a glove that earned its retirement.

Most warranty claims we see are in the first 12 months and are lacing or construction-related — both of which we can fix in 2–3 weeks.

Transferability

The warranty follows the glove, not the original buyer. If you inherit a Kachi glove from a teammate or buy it secondhand and a covered defect shows up, email us — we'll still stand behind it.

Wholesale & Team Orders

Program gloves (from wholesale orders) carry the same lifetime craftsmanship warranty. Claims for team programs go through wholesale@kachigloves.com for faster batch handling.
