Kachi Gloves — Kachi glove conditioner and leather oil, 4oz bottle

Premium Baseball Glove Oil & Leather Conditioner — In One Bottle

Most glove products pick a lane. Oil softens leather but doesn't protect it. Conditioner protects leather but doesn't soften deeply. Saddle soap cleans but dries. Kachi Glove Conditioner & Leather Oil is a single-bottle product formulated by the same people who broke in professional-grade gloves across four leagues and three continents — because maintaining a Japanese Kip glove shouldn't require a three-step aftercare routine.

What It Actually Does

  • Softens: Penetrates Japanese Kip and US steerhide without over-saturating the pocket
  • Restores: Rehydrates game-hardened leather after a long season
  • Protects: Seals against moisture, UV damage, and dirt ingress
  • Doesn't Darken: Unlike heavy lanolin-based oils, this won't permanently stain tan, cream, or natural-finish leathers
  • Doesn't Weigh Down: The biggest mistake players make is over-oiling a glove. This formula is designed to be applied sparingly — a single coat, worked in with a microfiber cloth, then allowed to rest overnight.

How to Use It

  1. Wipe the glove clean with a dry microfiber cloth. Remove surface dust and dirt.
  2. Apply a nickel-sized amount to the cloth. Never directly to the leather.
  3. Work in circular motions across the palm, pocket, and back. Avoid the web laces.
  4. Rest the glove for 24 hours with a ball in the pocket and a band wrapped around it.
  5. Wipe off any residual product. Glove is ready.

How often: Every 4–6 weeks during the season. Once at end-of-season for storage prep. Over-conditioning is worse than under-conditioning — err on the side of less.

Made for Every Leather Type We Sell

Formulated to work on the three leather tiers Kachi uses: Japanese Kip, premium Kip, and US steerhide. Also safe for most major-brand pro gloves — Rawlings HOH, Wilson A2000/A2K, Marucci Capitol, Nokona, 44 Pro — though we can't make specific claims about every third-party construction.

What It's Not

  • Not shaving cream. Shaving cream was a clubhouse joke before it became a clubhouse rumor. It does more harm than good.
  • Not mink oil. Mink oil over-saturates and darkens aggressively. Fine for boots, wrong for baseball gloves.
  • Not saddle soap. Saddle soap is a cleaner, not a conditioner. Use it before this product, not instead of it.

From Carlos

"The glove-care routine I use on my own gloves and on every academy kid's glove is simple — the right product, applied sparingly, on the right cadence. This is that product. It's what we use at Kachi Baseball."

— Carlos Castillo, Former MLB Pitcher, Co-Founder

Kachi was started by two former MLB pitchers — Julio Teherán, two-time All-Star with six consecutive Opening Day starts for the Atlanta Braves (tied with Warren Spahn), and Carlos Castillo, who pitched for the White Sox and Red Sox across an 18-season career that took him through Japan’s NPB and Taiwan’s CPBL — the leagues where Japanese Kip leather is the professional standard.

Every Kachi pattern is field-tested at Kachi Baseball, Carlos’s training academy in Miami, before it goes into production.
